Economic Civil Rights-Living Wages

UPDATE: 9 18 13 We, the People Politcs, seeing changes, small steps but going forward. How will this affect the McDonalds in other states now that California has raised the minimum wage? Corporations hearing the outcry from people trying to survive on the fruits of their labors. I see this as a victory and the wave of change could pick up momentum as other challenged employers concede higher wages. WE ARE NOT POWERLESS! (njb)

TO: MCDONALD'S CORPORATION

Right now, the vast majority of your employees make less than $16,000 per year. No one can live on that amount, much less raise a family. These hardworking Americans deserve more. Pay your employees a living wage.

Why is this important?

McDonald's took in more than $5.5 billion in profits last year, but millions of its employees are still making wages so low that they're often forced to choose between paying rent and buying food. If we are going to close the economic opportunity gap it is crucial that wealthy corporations like McDonald's start paying their employees fairly.

There is no reason in the world to keep your labor force on the brink or over the brink of poverty when profits are high. There is no sense in it happening when WE, the People, are the source of those profits as well. THINK! Support Workers' Rights! Pls Sign/RT using link above. (njb)
